Edwin Jackson was a national football league player for the Indianapolis Colts who beat the odds to achieve greatness at every stage of his playing career.
A former walk-on at Georgia Southern University, Edwin moved up the team's depth chart to become the starting linebacker his last two years and lead the team in tackles. Edwin also led his GSU team to win its conference championship, and anchored the team's defense in an upset win over the University of Florida. After college, Edwin accepted a free agent offer with the Arizona Cardinals, and then signed a three-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts. Edwin started for the Colts in 2016, and was their third leading tackler.
Edwin knew first-hand the financial, physical, and emotional challenges that come with being a non-scholarship student athlete. Despite these challenges, Edwin excelled and it became one of his life's missions to make it easier for walk-on student athletes to succeed.
The Edwin Jackson 53 Foundation will give selected walk-on student athletes from any sport financial assistance to help them reach their full potential.
